Check out my blog about this trip.http://interfaithpilgrimage.blogspot.com/“Faith is not a clinging to a shrine, but an endless pilgrimage of the heart.” - Abraham Joshua Heschel
Interfaith Pilgrimage: A Journey to the HeartI had a unique opportunity to join other clergy and interfaith spiritual directors on a pilgrimage to Israel-Palestine October 26 – November 5, 2010. The pilgrimage was be led by a Rabbi Ted Falcon, Pastor Don Mackenzie and Sheikh Jamal Rahman (The Interfaith Amigos), who have led this trip for many years. Among the places we prayed, meditated and shared learning was: Gethsemane, Nazareth, Mount of Beatitudes, Jerusalem, Korazim, The Dead Sea, Churches, Safed, Palestine, The Western Wall, The Temple Mount, The Holocaust Museum, Sea of Galilee. I created a Pilgrimage Prayer Book containing prayers and blessings from many friends and family which I took to the region. I carried this book with me the entire trio. This was a way that you were with all of us on this amazing trip that was intended not only for our learning, but to bring peace to all people and the region. If you’d like more information about the trip you can find it at the Spiritual Directors International website: http://www.sdiworld.org/. Peace and Blessings, Karuna |
